JMT builds a variety of cars for different high speed applications. The applications may change, but the meticulous attention to detail does not. Here are some actual JMT cars in the process of fabrication.
I. The Chassis
--Roll cages are essential to any serious racing car. JMT uses the famous A&E fabricators to provide the safest and functionally tested cages. Your car’s handling will benefit from the added rigidity and torsional stability. Our cages meet all NASCAR, SCCA, BMW Club, and NASA requirements.
-This is the interior of a typical car as it arrives at the shop. Cars are often converted from daily drivers, others come as a rolling chassis.
-The interior is gutted. The interior panels and wiring are retained or discarded according to the appropriate class rules
-The chassis is fitted with a custom fabricated roll cage assembly. This provides safety and performance unavailable from ‘bolt in’ additions.
-From the front of the car: Note the extensive reinforcement along the roof area as well as the firewall. Extensive cross bracing adds rigidity and protection. The front, midsection, and rear passenger compartments are reinforced and then connected to each other
-These are close up details of the welded joints. Note the uniform and clean beading as well as the precise angle and dimensional accuracy. This is quality work .
-The area around the pedals is reinforced and integrated with the rest of the cage. The floor pan areas are given an enhanced diamond pattern metal for improved strength.
-The stock seat mounts are replaced with a much stronger system custom matched for the specific seat and driver combination. This is much safer than stock.
-The integral cage system extends into the rear of the car. Bracing is added to the shock towers and connected to the rest of the cage.
-The shock towers are further braced to provide maximum rigidity. The enhanced torsional strength allows the modified suspension to achieve the most adhesion.
-The interior cage work is nearly completed. The side protection bracing is curved to permit entry with a minimum of strain, while providing the maximum protection. The widow netting mounts are integral to the cage.
-The completed bracing is painted, and then covered with approved padding. Seats are then attached to the rigid mounts.
